The Challenge
The project required the construction of nearly 1,500 CFA bearing piles, each 350mm in diameter and extending to depths of up to 15m. The design needed to make effective use of the underlying mudstone layers to achieve the required bearing capacity.
The Solution
Ahead of the main works, Franki constructed a series of preliminary test piles to assess performance within the site’s ground conditions. Detailed analysis of the test results enabled the team to refine and streamline the piling design.
The resulting solution utilised the high bearing capacity provided by the underlying mudstone, delivering an optimised foundation design supported by site-specific testing.
