Rookery Cottage

· Underpinning needed due to new extension being at a different level to the existing property. A risk of undercutting the existing building with the new extension foundations and it was determined by a structural engineer to need Underpinning to negate this risk.

· Pins were excavated, tidied to make a good base and key dug into the side of select pins to create a shear joint between every Pin.

· Excavate 10No. Underpins

· Each Pin = 1200mm Length, 750mm Width, 1200mm Depth

· Pins after excavation were inspected, shuttered and concrete poured into the excavation to the top level of the existing buildings foundations and pokered sufficiently to ensure concrete filled the Underpin to specification.

· Pins were constructed in a sequence to ensure sufficient support for the existing building when excavating various pins.
