Pile Type: Contiguous & bearing piles
Number of Piles: 359no.
Diameter: 450mm
Depth: 22.6m
The development required a total of 359no. 450mm diameter piles to support the construction of a single storey basement alongside bearing piles to support the RC concrete frame. The ground conditions consisted of dry, stable, London Clay.
The tight programme restrictions required Franki to mobilise and begin works as soon as possible, whilst continuing to deliver a high quality service.
The Soilmec SR-45 was best suited to the works due to its quick change capability, changing from CFA to Rotary in just one day. The contiguous retaining wall was designed in-house, drawing on both our local knowledge and in-house design team to offer a bespoke, cost-effective design solution.
Franki Foundations were contracted to deliver the works in six weeks, but managed to complete the programme in just 22 days, offering the client a 25% saving on programme.
