BESIX Unitec and CimPro join forces on the infrastructure market

BESIX Unitec has signed a cooperation agreement for the Benelux with CimPro. Thanks to CimPro's technologies, BESIX Unitec will be able to carry out even more complex infrastructure projects. The focus of their collaboration lies in waterworks, mobility and energy. Meanwhile, the very first joint project has already started.

To ensure operations continuity and prevent breakdowns of infrastructure assets, high-quality systems are a must. CimPro offers various solutions specifically for the infrastructure market:

  • A telemetry system, i.e. a system used for the collection of measurements or other data at remote points and their automatic transmission to receiving equipment, enabling its users to monitor unmanned installations, such as locks or pumping stations, both on mobile device and PC.

  • A package specifically designed for business-critical applications, where processes are so important and urgent that they cannot tolerate a minute's delay, such as in bridges and locks for instance. These are infrastructures where the items to monitor and the place of monitoring are at a distance of one another. The CimPro technology offers a solution to this specific context.

  • An alarm transmission system, for the central management and dispatch of mission-critical alerts. The system receives incoming alarms from one or more sources and sends them to one or more recipients, based on scenarios and duty rosters or employee availability. This system is again specific for business-critical processes, like locks, where it is necessary that an alarm call is delivered under all circumstances.

BESIX Unitec and CimPro are already hard at work with a first joint project, commissioned by De Vlaamse Waterweg, the authority which manages and exploits waterways in Flanders (Belgium). The joint project consists of equipping the bridges and locks on the Flemish waterways with centralised remote monitoring, so that they can be both monitored and operated from a distance.

Over the next six years, more than 250 assets will be remotely controlled and monitored by CimPro's technology. For this, an extensive software library was first built and extensively tested, allowing additional assets to be integrated into the overall management system within a few days. This allows a faster and more efficient response in future emergencies.

The beginning of a strong collaboration between BESIX Unitec and CimPro!
